Why Kerala, India?
Kerala is where we're based, so we say this with some skin in the game: Kerala is the state that gets slowness right. The backwaters aren't a photo op — they're a way of moving through a landscape. Munnar's tea hills aren't a scenic drive — they're a place to actually stop for two days. Ayurveda here isn't a spa menu — it's a 3,000-year-old medical system with genuine practitioners. And the food is regional, seafood-heavy, and utterly its own thing. Kerala is where you send parents, honeymooners, wellness groups, and yourself when you've had enough of the last trip.
Highlights
Kochi (Cochin)
Chinese fishing nets, Jewish quarter, Portuguese-Dutch-British colonial layering, Fort Kochi's cafés
Munnar
Tea estates at 1,600 m, Eravikulam National Park (Nilgiri tahr), Top Station
Thekkady (Periyar)
Spice plantations, boat safari on the lake, bamboo rafting
Alleppey (Alappuzha)
Houseboat backwaters through Kuttanad's paddy villages
Kumarakom
Quieter, more upscale backwater base, bird sanctuary
Wayanad
Northern Kerala's hills, coffee estates, tribal culture, quieter than Munnar
Varkala
Clifftop beach town, better than Kovalam these days
Kannur & Bekal
Northern Kerala, theyyam ritual performances (Oct–May)
Ideal For
Plan this trip your way
Every EternaLink trip is built from scratch for your group. What that means in practice:
First conversation is free. No commitment, no pressure.
Quick Tips
- Combine Munnar (2 nights) + Thekkady (1) + Alleppey (1 houseboat) + Kochi (1) for the classic 5–6 night loop
- Add Wayanad or Varkala if you have 8+ days
- Book the houseboat via us — the difference between the good ones and the tired ones is night-and-day
Experiences we can build in
Overnight houseboat on the Alleppey backwaters (private, not shared)
Genuine Panchakarma or shorter Ayurveda consultation and treatment
Kathakali performance with the pre-show makeup demonstration
Kerala Sadya (banana-leaf feast) at a family home, not a hotel
Theyyam ritual viewing in North Kerala (season-dependent, one of India's most extraordinary living traditions)
Good to know

Indian Rupee (INR). UPI works everywhere; cards widely accepted.

Monsoon note
June–September is heavy monsoon. Some Ayurveda practitioners argue this is the best time for treatment — but it's a different, wetter trip.
