The Beginning: Simple Meals, Priceless Memories

College days were simple, yet rich in their own way. Every meal out involved planning and creativity. Ordering battoora (deep-fried bread) without curry was not a compromise. It was a strategy. Saving that extra Rs 2 mattered. Free refills of chutney (spicy condiment) and sambar (lentil soup) filled our plates and our conversations, and we fondly referred to it as our "diet version."

When one friend could afford chicken fry with porotta (layered flatbread), the rest of us made our meal from porotta dipped in the gravy we shared. On tighter days, "egg roast without eggs"—just the onion gravy—was enough. While those meals lacked in extravagance, they made up for in warmth, camaraderie, and joy.

Alongside those meals were short trips, spontaneous celebrations, endless conversations, and memories that still bring smiles decades later.

Time Passed. Friendship Stayed Strong

As the years passed, life carried us in different directions. Careers took shape, families grew, and geography changed across cities, countries, and continents. Yet every reunion felt timeless. The jokes were the same. The connection was instant.

So meaningful was this bond that some of us shaped our professional paths, including jobs, businesses, and decisions, just to stay close. One tradition, above all, remained constant. We travelled together at least once every year.

As we began approaching retirement, though curiosity and adventure never aged, something became clear. Travel, for us, was never just about destinations. It was about connection, shared moments, and stories that stayed with us long after the journey ended.
